About Rise
Rise was formed on a cold, wet night on July 12 1983, where 92 people met at the Brown Park Community Centre in Swan View to talk about how they could better support the people in their own community. From this meeting a voluntary and charitable organisation was created, and Rise has been working with communities since.
We provide choices for more than 3000 people from all walks of life including young people at risk, those experiencing mental health challenges, people with a disability, our carers and the elderly.

Rise is now recruiting for 5 enthusiastic Support Workers to join our Disability program. The roles are part-time and require an availability to cover all shifts including days, afternoons, nights and weekends or a mixture of the shifts.

About the Role
The Support Worker role supports people with disability, their families and carers to develop the skills and capacity to promote independence in their home and community. This role enables clients to identify their goals and achieve their potential through a person-centred approach while maintaining clear and professional boundaries. Part of this role will be to be a mentor and role model to assist individuals to overcome their challenges, develop valued roles in their life, build positive relationships and build upon existing interests to enhance their social and economic participation.

About You
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for helping people with a disability to live a great life. To be considered for this position, you will have relevant qualification in Human Services (e.g. Disability, Aged Care, Allied Health, Community Services) and/or relevant experience.
You will be energetic, empathetic, patient and committed to supporting and promoting the individual needs of clients while maintaining positive relationships with them. You will be experienced in supporting individuals to access community activities and dealing with challenging behaviours.
You will be the embodiment of our values and a team player, with well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to use discernment and judgement while maintaining professional boundaries.

Previous experience supporting clients with complex and challenging needs is essential.
You will also demonstrate;
• Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery and assessment of plans that support a person to achieve their goals.
• Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and within a diverse team.
• Demonstrated ability to use initiative, discernment and judgement while maintaining professional boundaries.
Appointments to this position will be subject to a current C class driver’s licence as well as a current First Aid competency level - HLTAID003 certificate.
Additional Information: There are several vacant part-time lines available with set times and days specific for client needs and cannot be adjusted to suit candidate availability.
