About the Role

The Senior Coordinator is primarily responsible for the management of clients and staff as well as services within their program or neighbourhood, including understanding individualized services and contemporary delivery of support. This position is directly responsible for developing and negotiating individual clients’ budgets with funding bodies as well as monitoring program or client progress against contractual requirements and consumers’ needs. Part of this includes developing and reviewing care/service plans and liaising with various stakeholders to ensure they are client focused; conducting reporting for external stakeholders and Rise management; developing and actively managing the budget as well as addressing surpluses and overspending immediately.

Additional key responsibilities of the Senior Coordinator are to lead and manage staff to ensure best practice is followed and policies and procedures complied with. This role promotes a safe and inclusive work culture to reduce safety incidents by ensuring new employees have been provided with adequate knowledge of their role and responsibilities and reporting hazards and incidents to ensure safe work procedures are followed. The Senior Coordinator maintains effective communication with the team to ensure employees are aware of pertinent information and manages performance on an ongoing basis.

About You

This role is a great opportunity for someone looking to progress their career in the disability field. The ideal candidate will have a strong background within the disability industry and an understanding of individualized services and contemporary delivery of support. To be considered, you will have prior experience in dealing with government funding systems including individualised funding models as well as experience leading a diverse team to achieve outcomes. You will have well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with families, advocates and others as required. You will have an innovative outlook as well as good decision making and problem-solving skills.

Additionally, you will be the embodiment of our values, a team player with an empathetic and inclusive approach to manage the sensitivities of client and employee issues. You will be committed to providing consumer directed/ person centred care and contemporary models of service delivery. Furthermore, you will be able to work independently and with remote management and be comfortable making decisions under pressure.

A Certificate IV in Community Services or any other relevant qualification would be highly advantageous.

You will also demonstrate:

Time management and organisational skills to effectively plan and prioritise work tasks.
Sound administrative and computer skills
Prior experience developing and managing budgets
The ability to engage and work both with the people we support and the significant people in their lives
Appointments to this position will be subject to a current National Police check no more than 6 months old.
